Years of abuse and harsh weather conditions can take their toll on the factory cab mounts. Originally, these mounts were stamped from 1/8" steel and only had a partial flange around the bushing pad. Commonly these pads crack from the center of the hole towards the edge. Its also common to see rust pitting on the bushing pad or swelling around the rivets to the frame rail
These new mounts were designed using 3/16" steel and laser cut. The 3 piece design is press brake bent and corner welded with a fully flanged bushing pad. Ultimate strength! The difference in material thickness does not change how the bushings mount. These mounts were also used on the front frame area of the earlier trucks to hold the radiator support.
These rugged mounts come in two styles! PAY ATTENTION TO WHAT YOU ARE ORDERING AND WHAT YOUR TRUCK NEEDS! From my research:
NARROW SPACING: top bolts (rivets) 1.375" center to center
WIDE SPACING : top bolts (rivets) 2.25" center to center
1972-1986 Regular cab trucks : narrow bolt spacing
1987-1993 Regular cab trucks : WIDE BOLT SPACING
1972-1985 crew cab : narrow bolt spacing
1974-1993 extended (club cab) : narrow bolt spacing
